Summer is over, cats and kittens

Christian Wood Season

Nothing good ever happens in September, not in the NBA.

There’s never a happy September trade, never an agreeable September signing. If you’re traded in September, attempt at summer reconciliation didn’t work out. Ink a restricted free agent deal in September and it’s because you were scared out of signing with the club you truly wanted to align with, strung along by the team which drafted you.

If there is an unrestricted free agent under the age of 30 signing a deal in September it is because someone’s career went terribly wrong. No good NBA free agent has reason to sweat summer out, only potential retirees or goofballs.
