Explaining the NBA playoffs

Ya know what NBA players used to do immediately after an NBA games, but just before speaking to NBA media? Smoke cigarettes. Drink a beer. Coaches, especially. Players, mostly.
Cigarettes smoked out after a while and available beer slowly trickled away, but not before it let loose with the barriers. Reintroduced sugar and nicotine into the system, thinned the blood. Life speeds up and settles down upon introduction to tiny flame.
In 2023 we have mid-game player interviews. In 2023 we have podium turns, televised internationally, The Statement of Record. Which is silly, because these people just got off work. Who does a good interview after work? Let alone after running around for a few hours.
I’ll tell ya when ballplayers do good interviews. At home, after “relaxing” a little.
This is why the podcasts are great. You’d never want to listen to them, let the aggregators suffer through that, but we love Draymond Green on-air, half-bullshit and half-basketball.
