LONZO’S KNEE SURGERY

The worst thing. Surgery on Sept. 28, re-evaluated in four-to-six weeks, so, we decide in November if Lonzo Ball can still be Lonzo Ball.

Patrick Williams can handle the on-ball defense, obviously. All of it. Patrick Williams will have to guard everyone, I don’t know if he can guard anyone.

Losing Lonzo doesn’t hurt the break, either, it’s not like Andre Drummond kicks the ball out after grabbing rebounds. You gotta come get it from Andre.

Which is probably safe for everyone, considering Goran Dragic turned 36 five months before the season started.

Lonzo’s eventual re-evaluation seems sadder, this is the surgery that takes?

We’ve no choice, as Bulls followers, to presume Ball returns for a few games before the All-Star break, barely bending either knee but successfully guessing for steals and nailing 16-36 of his flat-footed three-pointers. The Bulls use his comeback as an excuse not to shore up at the trade deadline, Lonzo is shut down again by March.

Yet this is not the low point.
