It looked way better on the menu

During the Suns’ tepid loss to Brooklyn on Thursday, Kevin Durant continually kept a hopeful eye on new teammate Bradley Beal, and the Nets could tell. Durant broke every huddle thinking about Beal in the corner and Brooklyn was ready, the Suns fell apart in the fourth quarter again, 13-11.
On Friday, well, no Beal. Left the loss to the Knicks in the first quarter after an ugly right ankle sprain. Bad fourth quarter, 300 minutes of terrible fourth quarters at this point, 13-12.
Frank Vogel has his team defending to the best of its short-armed ability, and his front office did well to round out the rotation with regulars, actual NBA players, there are no severe drop offs from star to second-string. The stars are fine, when healthy.
No, the team’s September problems are still the same: Beal, Durant and Booker are superfluous when together, not enough to overcome playmaking and interior deficiencies.
