The Bulls' old hat

Entering Wednesday’s home date with the Sixers, the Bulls have 11 games left to perform. The team is 2.5 up on Indiana in a bid for the final play-in spot in the East, a half-game behind No. 9 Toronto, 1.5 games behind the eighth-seeded Hawks.
The front office’s interest in attenuation paid off: Wizards would always Wizard, the Pacers are made of rookies, the Heat are old, the Hawks were never going to work out. Fire up the bus to Milwaukee, plane tickets cost too much Chicago is going to the playoffs.
The Bulls don’t acquire competitively but that doesn’t mean ownership is out of ideas. This team embraced the purgatory of the play-in, claiming “postseason” while still retaining a one-in-six shot at the top-four of the NBA draft lottery. It’s shitty and cynical and, ask Sox fans, very Reinsdorf.
