Zion Williamson’s Pelicans cranked 121 points in a win over Minnesota on Monday evening, dominating the NBA’s top defensive team, defeating the club with the NBA’s top record by 14 points. Williamson scored 36 on 17 shots, one turnover.

Who hasn’t required a fresh Monday night to restart everything, clear the view, hop that life right back on track?

This should be New Orleans’ best month. Everyone but Larry Nance Jr. is healthy, the club survived another injury-wracked initial-quarter of the season with a 13-11 record, yet we’re all over Zion Williamson.

Why? He’s out of shape, and because Stephen A. Smith and Shaquille O’Neal watched their first Pelicans games of the season last week. Shaq’s criticism was accurate and relatively mild. Stephen A. Smith called Williamson “fat.”

Later, Zion’s former trainer posted a older picture of a skinnier Williamson, presumably taken prior to the disintegration of the trainer’s relationship with the 23-year old.
