Dallas, like New Orleans before it, thought it knew the youth. Thought it understood it, could keep up with it, hell, probably thought they, were, “the youth.” And they ain’t, not Dallas, not when the Thunder are around. OKC will always be the youngest thing in the room, arf arf.
The Mavericks gave them toys, turnovers in the first half, open three-pointers in the second. Oklahoma City double-teamed Kyrie Irving and Luka Dončić to get the toy I mean ball out of their hands, Irving chugged along but Dončić continues to miss from outside, continues to shoot flat free throws, and brought little of the points per game-leading panache to quell the quaking youth.
